At Andy Whiteside Carpentry we specialise in the replacement and repair of traditional timber sash and case windows for period properties. Our completely bespoke timber sash windows preserve the character of any property type, whether period or contemporary, Listed or Conservation.
As experts in period, conservation and listed buildings, our traditional windows have been approved for listed and conservation properties by architects and planning officers throughout the UK.
As well as full replacement windows, we also offer single or double glazed sashes fitted to the existing frames, to preserve as much of the original architecture as possible.
Each window is designed and made to measure at our North Yorkshire workshop, taking care to preserve the original character of the period and style of your home.
We believe that when you buy windows, you’re making a big investment in your property, and that your decisions should not be made lightly. You will probably only buy windows once, so they need to be right, with no compromise.
We understand this, and that’s why our windows are built to last, using traditional methods which have stood the test of time. Our windows are made with the highest quality timber frames for versatility, durability, and a beautiful end result. The glazing we work with is always traditionally putty pointed; we will never devalue the job by using stick on beads.
We specialise in crafting bespoke timber framed windows to your exacting specifications. Our windows are made in a wide variety of styles tailored to the individual project.
The styles we regularly work in include Horizontal ‘Yorkshire’ Sliding Sash, Vertical ‘Box’ Sliding Sash and Casement. We use high quality timber, which not only looks beautiful, feels lovely, and wears brilliantly, but is also a wonderfully green material – and this really matters to us. You can learn more about our commitment to the environment on our Green Credentials page. We work with both double and single glazing, for which we use 4mm float glass or 4mm toughened glass, where necessary. Our preferred double glazing is made by Slimlite but we work with other types regularly.
